Discover the latest trends with "Sacrés Français!" An inventive group of artists sets the trend with their daring creativity, their style and quirky comments.

After its performances of "La Danse, une histoire à ma façon", Beau Geste Company will present another show, open-air show whose title is "Transports Exceptionnels". This free performance will be held in a public area so that those who cannot afford the theatre, or are simply not familiar with it will nonetheless be able to see them. This is a good way to meet with new audiences, and, also, it’s a nudge to the new Alliance française building just across the street in Suan Lum.

"Transports Exceptionnels", is a duo with a dancer and an excavator.

Just as the beginning of an opera, a dreamy melody rises, a universal ode is sung, that of Romeo to Juliet, that of the Beast to its Beauty!

".../...’Transports exceptionnels’ is a rare moment in time… The harmonious pas de deux is an aria with perfect rhythm, and is minutely choreographed thanks to the driver of the excavator. The machine’s arm lifts the dancer in the air, draws him in, and pushes him away, then whirls around madly barely missing the human being who then turns into a toreador. The basket of the excavator becomes a nest, or a baby’s crib." Libération (2006).

Beau Geste Company was founded in 1981 by 7 dancers (Dominique Boivin, Agnès David, Christine Erbé, Isabelle Job, Christine Graz, Marc Lawton, Philippe Priasso), all of whom were trained at the Centre National de Danse Contemporaine, directed at the time by American choreographer Alwin Nikolaïs. The company alternates individual and group works in which each dancer is successively choreographer and performer. In 1991, Dominique Boivin, Christine Erbé and Philippe Priasso became company art directors and some of their creations have met with international and long lasting success: “Mécaniques”, “La Danse, une histoire à ma façon” and “Transports exceptionnels” continue to tour the world and have been shown in over 40 different countries. Beau Geste Company focuses on each dancer’s personality and the specific way he moves; it ventures into many forms of performance (solo, cabaret, danced conferences, events, street art...) and revels in its taste for diversity, humour and euphemism.
