Hip-Hop is an artistic genre of its very own, just as contemporary dance or theatre. This is why LA FETE Battle takes place in a real theatre, and why it is unique! Ever since it began in 2008, it draws more and more people every year. Last year, 60 teams -- 180 dancers!--participated in LA FETE Battle!
A Hip-Hop "Battle" is first and foremost a friendly dance revel. All over the world, professionals, amateurs, and even very young kids, participate in "Battle", or "Baby Battle". In "Battles", individual dancers or groups compete in different hip-hop categories: b. boying (lying on the ground), popping, locking, experimental… Whether they are held indoors or out, these meetings can draw several thousand people. The judges are generally famous dancers, and even though prizes are awarded, a dancer’s real pride is to thrill the public thanks to his talent, technique, and showmanship.
