After the success of the exhibition Futurotextiles at the Tri Postal in Lille (France) in 2006, in Istanbul (Turkey) in September 2007, and Futurotextiles 08 presented in autumn 2008 in Courtrai (Belgium), the travelling module will present an important selection of concrete vision of tomorrow‘s textiles which will change our relationship with the world, our environment and ourselves.

The exhibition will take visitors on a journey to discover the world of textile: they will take in its incredible diversity, from fibre to weaving and knits, with a glance at composites and unwoven materials. It is also about showing that today’s textiles have become technical, innovative and intelligent.

Thus, Futurotextiles will be scientific and technological but will also offer visitors an artistic, playful and poetic voyage with creations of some of the most famous designers of the last few years.

The main themes of the exhibition:

> Discovering textiles: The visitor learns what new fibres are, what the word textile means and what are the fabrics of tomorrow.

> Hometex: A space dedicated to textiles in furnishing and the creations of designers blending textiles and composite materials.

> Clothtex: Presents interactive apparel as well as haute-couture creations with futuristic accents.

> Mobiletex: The visitor learns about the use of composite materials in the transportation sector

> Protex: Here one finds textiles used in the field of protection (high resistance to fire, external aggression) and extreme climatic conditions

> Buildtex: Architectural projects integrating textiles.

> Geotex: Examples of textiles used in basements or in agriculture.

> Medtex: This part is dedicated to textile use in medicine (prosthetics implants …).
