Classical Music Concert

Once again "La Fête” invites the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the masterpieces of French classical music. Famous cellist Anne Gastinel will join the musicians of Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, conducted for the occasion by the talented French conductor Michael Cousteau.

Michaël COUSTEAU
The young French conductor Michael Cousteau has worked with a great number of orchestras, such as the "Orchestre National de Lyon", the "Orchestre Symphonique et Lyrique de Nancy", the "Orchestre National de Montpellier", the "Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg", the "Netherlands Radio Kamer Orkest", and the "Netherlands Radio Symphony Orkest" and tackles a large repertoire – symphonic works, operas, oratorios. He has appeared with many famous soloists and has assisted great  conductors, such as Emmanuel Krivine, Zoltan Pesko or Gary Bertini. Selected by the association Culturesfrance for its programme "Un Chef, Un Orchestre", which supports young French conductors working abroad, Michael Cousteau conducted also the "Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra" in Mascate, the "National Radio and Television Orchestra" in Minsk, the "National Philharmonic Orchestra" (Byelorussia) and the "Moscow Chamber Orchestra".

Anne GASTINEL
Anne Gastinel joined the "Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique” at the age of eleven. She obtained the first prize in 1986 and pursued her postgraduate studies at the CNSM, Paris. Her masters, Yo-Yo Ma, Janos Starker and Paul Tortelier with whom she further studied, spotted the maturity of an exceptional artist.
Over the past fifteen years, she has received great distinctions: "Young Talent 1994”, Victoires "Best Recording of the year” 1995, "Discothèque idéale”, the Prize of "l’academie du disque et Classique d’or” by the French radio RTL, ffff Télérama, the 2006 French Music Award in the "Cellist of the Year” category …) and her recording career has won  acclaimed success from the international press.
Unanimously acknowledged as the French Ambassador of the cello, she has been chosen to play for a year with the mythical Matteo Gofriler of Pablo Casals. While still teaching at the National Music Conservatory in Lyon and godmother of the Lyon Chamber Music Festival, Anne Gastinel continues to charm her audience wherever she performs.- striving to privilege the art of sharing – the very essence of music to her eyes.

Bangkok Symphony Orchestra
Under the patronage of His Majesty Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn and under the auspices of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation, the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra has become the greatest symphonic orchestra of Thailand, and its best cultural ambassador. Over the years, the 70 professional Thai musicians of the BSO worked with the best known professors in Thailand and abroad.  The Orchestra was conducted by famous international names such as Loris Tjeknavorian, Takuo Yuassa, Paul Nadler and Zheng Xiaoying, soloists such as Peter Donohoe, Anthony Camden, Olivier Charlier performed in the BSO, which also accompanied great singers like Julia Migenes.
