Message from the Ambassador of France
For the third consecutive year, 'La Fête' will set up its theatre in Bangkok. During three weeks, we will celebrate, together with a large Thailand and international public, the best artistic creations that France and Thailand have to offer.

This year, 'La Fête' will honour His Majesty the King of Thailand on the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of His Accession to the Throne; in preview
of the festival itself, on June 14th a concert will bring together the
Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Hikotaro Yazaki and accompanied by the French pianist Anne Queffélec. The concert will be graciously presided by Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra.
'La Fête' remains faithful to its origins by promoting diversity and innovation: its main reason
to exist is to present the widest variety of artistic expressions as possible, from the most
traditional to the more innovative, with the only rule being the search of excellence. In 2006, Fashion is to receive a place of honour for the very first time, opening 'La Fête' at Siam Paragon on June 22nd with a fashion show performance entitled, where the glamour of Parisian Couture will be presented side-by-side with the new scene of 'Bangkok Fashion City'. As the main theme of the festival, fashion will also be presented during the third biennial of the Month of Photography, with an exhibition by the French National Fund for Contemporary Art on 'The Theatre of Fashion'.

'La Fête' also takes us to other worlds with three exclusive productions concerning the imaginary, gesture and performance; 'Pichet Klunchun and Myself' or the playful and theatrical meeting of two geniuses of dance, Company 111 with 'Plan B', a new circus show that poetically defies the laws of gravity, and finally 'Solo - the Doubt Within Me' by the brilliant choreographer-dancer Philippe Decouflé, whose successful 'Tricodex' during 'La Fête' 2005 left a lasting impression of unforgettable memories. The great successes of 'La Fête' 2005 will also be returning, with new works and performers: the Festival of Chamber Music with its young geniuses of classical music, the Electronic Music Festival with the best French DJs today, the French Film Festival and the 'Music Festival', during which great French and Thai rock and pop artists will share the stage in 2006 with notable amateur groups. This year, jazz and theatre are invited for the first time to 'La Fête', which has the pleasure to welcome the talented pianist Boyan Z during his Asian Tour, and the theatrical 'Troupe des Deux Mondes' who will perform two sick humour plays for the enjoyment of the French-speaking public.

Since 2004, 'La Fête' is an example of co-operation between French and Thai partners, private and public, artistic and technical. This partnership is reinforced every year, as seen with the increasing participation of the Metropolitan Bangkok Administration during 'La Fête' 2006.

This Franco-Thai partnership, at the heart of the 'La Fête' project, is also found in its financing, receiving a large part from Thai and French private patrons. I wish to express all my thanks, first of all, to our 'Platinum Sponsors', SINGHA and SIAM PARAGON, to our official airline partner « THAI AIRWAYS INTERNATIONAL », to our 'Golden Sponsors', SANOFI PASTEUR, SANOFI AVENTIS, TOTAL E&P, TOTAL OIL, TOTAL GAS & POWER, EADS, SAINT GOBAIN, GEODIS, PERNOD RICARD, L'OCCITANE and the BANGKOK SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA FOUNDATION who chose to support our Festival of Chamber Music this year, to our 'Silver Sponsors', EDF, SOFITEL SILOM, BNP PARIBAS, NOKIA, SCHNEIDER,as well as to all the friends of 'La Fête'; Alstom, Bangkok Bank, Bank of Thailand, Banyan Tree Bangkok, Cartier (Richemont Luxury Ltd.), Carrefour, Dextra Asia, Essilor Manufacturing, Franco-Thai Business Council, Ipedex, Saint-Honoré Bangkok (Hermès), High-Tech AJ, Jim Thompson Silk Company, ICC International Public Co., Ltd, L'Oréal Thailand, Michelin Siam, Pansea Orient-Express Hotels, Rutnin Medical Associated Co., Ltd, Siam Commercial Foundation, the Siam Gypsum Industry (Saraburi) Co., Ltd, Thalès, Thainox Stainless Public Co., Ltd., Vidon & Partners, Vovan & associés and Wanmani Co., Ltd.
