Coordinated by the AFAA (Association française d’action artistique), the touring festival, called 'French Colours', will allow the Asian public to discover a large-ranged and original French chamber music repertoire through the most promising young French soloists. These youngsters, selected by the AFAA as part of the DECLIC program, are all laureates of international prizes and already have a rich experience of chamber music performances in the most prestigious concerts halls and festivals in France and in Europe.
In partnership with the Music Department of Silpakorn University, workshops and masterclasses will accompany each concert and allow the French musicians to meet the local soloists.
Eight new generation French soloists will perform at the small hall of the Thailand Cultural Centre in Bangkok the 23rd, 25th and 27th of June. They will play a selection of the master pieces of French chamber music repertoire and will pay tribute to Mozart, for his 250th anniversary, during three unique concerts. The French musicians will give master classes to local students and musicians on the 24th of June.
As a symbol of this Franco Thai musical cooperation project, the third concert will gather on stage the French musicians and famous Thai violinist Tasana Nagavajara for a joint performance.
Déclic promotes the young generation of French soloists who have won international musical awards. This programme has been initiated by the AFAA, in coproduction with Radio France and is supported by the corporate sponsor Mécénat Musical Société Générale. |
